Georginio Rutter was full of praise for the performance of Glen Kamara in Leeds United’s win at Leicester City tonight.

Rutter was speaking on Sky Sports immediately after the Whites victory at the King Power, where he hailed the display of £5m summer signing.

Leeds inflicted just Leicester’s second defeat of the season this evening as Rutter turned home from close range in the second half to earn a huge three points in the East Midlands.

The 21-year-old will undoubtedly earn all the plaudits for another fine display, but it was Kamara who he wanted to praise in his post-match interview on Sky.

Kamara produced arguably his best performance in a Leeds shirt this evening, particularly in the first half, as his quality on the ball really shone as a class above most players on the pitch.

Speaking after the game, Rutter spoke of his happiness at Leeds picking up such an incredible three points, before then praising Kamara for such a fine display.

He said: “I’m happy. Well done to Glen today, he did a good job!”

Rutter is right. He will earn the plaudits for his winning goal, Illan Meslier for his match-winning save, but Kamara really was a class above most in the first-half.

The 28-year-old was picking up space in a congested midfield, and whenever he was pressurised by someone in a blue shirt, he managed to keep the ball and show his class.

Daniel Farke said in his press conference that Kamara will only get better the more he plays after his lack of pre-season, and we certainly saw that tonight, even if he did tire towards the end.
