Daniel Farke watched on in the rain as Leeds United finally secured a 4-1 win over Plymouth Argyle after extra time, and he spoke about a knock picked up by Willy Gnonto after the full-time whistle.
It was Gnonto that got the ball rolling for Leeds, having netted the only goal of the game against Bristol City last Friday. A well-placed strike into the bottom corner just after the hour mark, to put Leeds ahead.
But, Plymouth came from nowhere to equalise – and Gnonto was subbed off after 71 minutes. The star was seen holding his foot just after the half-time break. He lasted until 20 minutes of normal time left.
Leeds will want to keep Gnonto fit with doubts over the status of Dan James ahead of this weekend’s clash against Rotherham. Especially, with he finally starting to show the kind of form expected of him.
Farke was asked in his post-match press conference about the knock sustained by Gnonto after the win over Plymouth, which sends us into the fifth round of the FA Cup. Farke says it is just a knock, thankfully.
“Willy had a hit on his foot before the goal, but was still there with a tidy finish. Just a bruise. Should be okay for Saturday,” Farke said about Gnonto after the match, as quoted by Leeds Live on Tuesday night.

Thank goodness. Gnonto’s return to form is coming at a really important time for Leeds, just when James has faced a couple of weeks on the sidelines – and, at a crucial time of the season. Form needed.
Momentum now, is crucial in the race for automatic promotion. Continuing to win in The FA Cup is good for morale, and another goal for Gnonto will go down a treat. He is likely to keep his place on Saturday.
