Dan James has been quoted by 90Min as saying that Leeds United duo Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams have “great attitudes” – ahead of next Monday’s clash between James’ Wales side and the Leeds duo’s United States side.

James, 25, left Leeds on a season-long loan to join Fulham in the summer. It comes after joining Leeds last summer from Manchester United in 2021 for a fee of £25million. He had a hand in nine goals, during his 40 Leeds appearances.

Glimpses of quality – like his brace against Villa. But he was played out of position by Marcelo Bielsa and often, at times, frustrated Leeds fans. Like, his red card against Chelsea. He decided to go out on loan to Fulham in the summer.

He spoke about his exit, explaining his love for Leeds but underlining his need for game time ahead of the World Cup. Since his move to Marco Silva’s side, he has only started three times – managing eight appearances for the Cottagers.

James did score against old side Manchester United on Sunday, to the delight of Leeds fans – albeit in a 2-1 defeat. Speaking ahead of Monday’s clash against USA, James raved about Aaronson and Adams, who he will play against.

“They’re a very athletic team, and I’ve obviously played with two players at Leeds and they’ve got great attitudes. I think it’ll be a great match up,” James said ahead of next Monday’s clash at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, in Al-Rayyan.

It is going to be an incredibly interesting game. The second, of Group B. England take on Iran earlier in the day and it should really be an easy win for Gareth Southgate’s side. But the result of Wales against USA, could set up the group.

England are expected to cruise through the group. Nine points are likely. Iran will do well to get a result. But the exciting part of the group is the battle for second between Wales and USA. This game will do a lot to determine that.
