There have been concerns among Leeds United’s fanbase in the last few days with an announcement regarding the signing of Harry Wilson still missing. But Graham Smyth has news.
It was reported towards the end of last month that Leeds had pulled off a major coup with the signing of Wilson on a free transfer. The Wales star almost joined on deadline day during last summer’s market.

Fulham pulled the plug after failing to get the required replacement in at Craven Cottage. But Wilson was keen on the move, and now, he has become a free agent after his contract at Fulham expired on June 30.
After a season in which Wilson had a hand in 17 Premier League goals and assists, Leeds fans felt the club had no chance of convincing the former Fulham star to join. However, Leeds have managed to land him.
When will Leeds announce the signing of Harry Wilson
Reports said that a deal is done. It is expected that Wilson will put pen to paper on a four-year deal, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2030. Aston Villa and Benfica had been linked with him.

But Wilson has chosen to join Leeds with a big wage set to be paid. However, it has been more than a week since those reports emerged and Leeds fans are growing impatient, and also worried about Wilson.
It is likely to be because the Whites were unlikely to sign him, and a move still feels too good to be true. But Graham Smyth confirms Leeds will announce a deal soon: “Not today. Middle of the week, I think.”
Wilson will become the seventh Wales player on Leeds’ books
The former Bournemouth man is the star of Craig Bellamy’s side after such a stellar season, closing in on 70 caps for his country. He would become the seventh Wales player on Leeds’ books going into 2026-27.

Karl Darlow remains in talks with Leeds over a new deal, while Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon remain stalwarts of Daniel Farke’s side. Dan James is back from injury and hoping to make an impact next term.
Charlie Crew remains in Leeds’ U21 side and has played for Wales, while Jayden Lienou was called up to the Wales squad in recent weeks. If and when Wilson does sign, he would be Leeds’ seventh Wales star.
