Leeds United could release Helder Costa on a free if he does not agree a transfer soon.
That is according to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, who says Leeds are expected to try agree some sort of ‘reverence package’ with Costa if a move does not materialise.
Costa told Daniel Farke early on in the summer that he wanted to depart Elland Road, something which Leeds are happy to sanction.
It is said that Costa has had interest from Saudi Arabia, a division he played in and won last season while on loan at Nuno Espirito Santo’s Al-Ittihad.
However, Costa has just a matter of hours to secure a move back to Saudi Arabia with their transfer window set to slam shut at 10pm tonight.

What complicates matters further is that Costa is currently away on international duty with Angola and is in action at this very moment in an AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
Costa would still have the opportunity of securing a move with windows still open in Turkey, Greece, Qatar and Australia, though nothing concrete has been reported regarding interest from those nations.
Leeds have already lost Rodrigo to Qatari side Al-Rayyan and they may well be the Whites’ last chance to get some sort of fee for Costa.
If a transfer is unable to be agreed soon, the best option would certainly be to come to some sort of mutual termination so he is free to sign for someone else outside of the window.
Costa is likely to be on decent wages given he cost Leeds £15 million in 2020 and so getting him off the bill would be a smart move.
