San Francisco 49ers Enterprises’ wait to receive EFL approval for their takeover of Leeds United will go into next week.
That is according to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, who reports Leeds are not expecting anything imminently over the weekend and is therefore set to extend into next week at least.
It is now over a month since Leeds confirmed an agreement had been reached between 49ers Enterprises and Andrea Radrizzani’s Aser Ventures for a 100% buyout.
The process has caused somewhat of a delay to Leeds‘ summer plans with a fresh price having had to be agreed between the two parties after relegation to the Championship.
Leeds had been hoping ratification would arrive before the appointment of a new manager, but with pre-season having started on Wednesday, they felt obliged to name Daniel Farke in time for that.

Of course, the longer the wait goes on, the more frustrating it is for Leeds fans but given the number of investors that have to be checked, it will take as long as it takes.
Thankfully for Leeds, it shouldn’t continue to hamper their summer plans with work needing to start imminently on bringing new players to the squad.
According to Phil Hay, Leeds will be able to make signings before EFL approval officially arrives, which could mean next week is when work really begins to start.
There is now less than a month until Leeds’ Championship opener against Cardiff City and so Farke will be keen to have some sort of time on the training field with new recruits before then.
With Leeds’ first pre-season game against Manchester United on Wednesday, hopefully next week can bring some big news.
