Graham Smyth has written in his Yorkshire Evening Post Q&A column that despite Carlos Corberan being in a job at West Brom, he does not think it is a “huge issue” for Leeds United – and thinks Corberan will fancy a Leeds return.
Corberan, 40, is one of a number of names being strongly linked with the Leeds job. Brendan Rodgers has seemed to end any chance of a move to Leeds, with a return to Celtic more likely. Daniel Farke and Scott Parker are linked.
Of course, Corberan was linked with a return to Leeds in February before signing a new deal at West Brom. But after failing to secure a top-six spot, a move back to Leeds as manager might tempt the Spanish boss after three years.
Corberan managed the club’s Under-21 side and worked under Marcelo Bielsa on the first-team coaching staff. But unlike Rodgers, Farke or Parker, he is in work. However, Smyth does not think Corberan being in a job is an issue.
“Corberan is in employment. Leeds would need an element of co-operation from West Brom. The way these things tend to go, you wouldn’t see it being a huge issue. Corberan will highly likely fancy it. Terrific job, if a little daunting.”

The Mail claim that Corberan has a release clause in his contract, worth a bargain £2m. So, Leeds have a decision to make. Do they go for Farke, with two promotions on his CV. Do they go for Parker? English, and two promotions, too.
Rodgers is off to Celtic, while there are rumours that Parker is likely to go to Leicester. It might come to a two-way shootout between Farke and Corberan. A proven manager, out of work. Or a man that knows Leeds, for a small fee.
