Leeds United will have to pay West Bromwich Albion £2 million if they want to appoint Carlos Corberan as their next manager.
That is according to the Mail Online, who report Corberan is a genuine contender to take over at Leeds and his release clause stands at £2 million.
Corberan was among the list of targets Leeds were keen to speak to back in February when Jesse Marsch was relieved of his duties.
However, with Corberan having been at West Brom for barely four months, the Baggies handed him a new deal to stave off interest from Leeds.
The 40-year-old put pen-to-paper on a long-term deal at the Hawthorns that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season, though the £2 million release clause could put a premature end to that.

While interest was there in Corberan earlier this year, it is pretty clear that he was not a first choice candidate – with Leeds instead prioritising moves for Andoni Iraola and Arnie Slot.
That said, neither of those pursuits worked out either and with Leeds in the Championship, Corberan at just £2 million is certainly a realistic option.
The Spaniard was an important part of Marcelo Bielsa’s coaching staff at Leeds during the his first two years at the club, and was assistant manager when the Whites were promoted.
He has since built a solid track record as a manager himself in the Championship, guiding Huddersfield Town to a play-off final in his second year at the club on one of the lowest budgets in the division.
Corberan then took West Brom from the bottom three in October to just short of the play-offs last season, despite the uncertainty surrounding their ownership at the moment.
