Easter Monday could be the day in which Leeds United secure automatic promotion and return to the Premier League, as Daniel Farke’s side host Stoke City at Elland Road.
After three wins in a row, Leeds remain on course for 100 points with Stoke next – before matches against Bristol City and Plymouth. The Whites take on Stoke at 3pm, before Sheffield United take on Burnley.
All the signs suggest Leeds will beat Stoke, while Sheffield United face a really tough test. If Leeds better Sheffield United’s result on Easter Monday, then they will be confirmed as promoted to England’s top tier.
Sam Parkin has predicted a Leeds win, and a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor when Sheffield United face Burnley at 5.30pm. But what happens next season if Leeds do get promoted? Gabby Agbonlahor has a prediction.

Gabby Agbonlahor says if Leeds will be relegated next season…
On TalkSPORT on Monday morning (April 21, 6.15AM), Agbonlahor and Troy Deeney highlighted the issues that promoted teams now have with securing Premier League safety given the quality of the others.
Agbonlahor named Leeds and said The Whites are going to need to bring in “lots of players” to stand a chance but predicted the three promoted teams will go down, like Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton.
“Luton last season, made it physical. Ipswich tried play football, Leicester – I don’t know what they were doing. Southampton tried to play football, but if they lost a ball it was a goal. There’s no easy games.

“The teams coming up, the recruitment has got to be spot on. The promoted teams spent £100m, but that doesn’t really get you anything. It’s going to be difficult, you look at Leeds coming up,” he said.
“They’re going to needs lots of players. I don’t have the answer, I think it’s going to be the same next season because the Premier League is that strong,” Agbonlahor continued, on Leeds’ chances of survival.
Daniel Farke’s record in the Premier League is very worrying
Of course, Farke is renowned as a Championship expert. A manager to have won the Championship twice in the last decade and maybe now, a third time if Leeds win their last three – Stoke, Bristol City, Plymouth.
Farke has had two goes at the Premier League. The first ended in relegation, Farke remaining in charge and Norwich going down with five wins and 21 points. A second season saw Farke axed by November.
Farke’s record in the Premier League:
| Season | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Points | Position |
| 2019-20 | 38 | 5 | 6 | 27 | 21 | 20th |
| 2021-22 | 11 | 1 | 2 | 8 | 5 | 20th (when sacked) |
Farke will argue that he had no funding in the Premier League and compared to what The 49ers and Red Bull will give him this summer, he is right to do so. But, the task is harder now – Leeds are up against it.
