Leeds United are reportedly in talks to sign Roma attacker Ola Solbakken before Friday’s deadline in case clubs come in for Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra – and below, are five facts on the Norwegian star.
The Mail claim that the 24-year-old is now being targeted by Leeds with clubs considering late moves for Gnonto and Sinisterra. It is a bit of a surprise that both have remained at Leeds until this late stage.
But in case a club does come in for either the Italian winger, or the Colombian, Leeds are ready to move. They have opened talks to sign Solbakken. Here are five facts about the Norway attacker, now at Roma.
Five facts on Solbakken as Leeds open talks for Roma star
1. Versatile in attack
Solbakken is the kind of player you would love to have on your bench. He specialises on the right flank, but the attacker can play anywhere across the three positions behind the striker – and, play up top too.

2. Bodo/Glimt form, European stage
Solbakken has played 27 times in Europe. But it was his form in the 21-22 Conference League – scoring six goals in 11 appearances. Three of which came in four games against Roma, and one against Celtic.

3. Norway international, Haaland teammate
His form for Bodo/Glimt not only earned him a subsequent move to Roma – but also established him as part of Norway’s team. He’s won eight caps alongside Leeds-born Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.

4. How much do Leeds need to pay?
The report from The Mail states that Roma would be willing to do business at a reasonable sum of just £4m. If Roma are open to his exit so late in the window, remains to be seen. They need to replace him.
5. Leeds and Roma connection
There is a solid connection between Leeds and Roma. The initial loan for Diego Llorente, the current loans of Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen and talks for Nicolo Zaniolo. That could aid a Solbakken deal.
