Fabrizio Romano claims on Twitter on Sunday that Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Rangers ace Glen Kamara with a bid on the table – and talks at the ‘final stage’. A move should happen next week.
Kamara, 27, is set to leave Rangers having spent the last four and a half years with the Gers. In that time, he has clocked up 193 outings, won the Premiership title and got to the 2021-22 Europa League final.
But this summer, Kamara is looking for a new challenge. He has not been included in any of Rangers’ matches this term, including Champions League qualifiers – the last of which being a 2-2 draw with PSV.
The Scottish Sun reported earlier this month that Leeds were on the verge of completing a £5.5m deal – but in the following few days, the trail had gone cold. But, Romano says a deal is now on for Kamara.
He says that Leeds have made a bid and negotiations are at the final stages. The midfielder has already agreed personal terms and a move for the Finland ace is set to go through next week, as per Romano.

A much-needed signing. One that is smart, gets the job done, and sees Leeds add an experienced, quality player, that suits Daniel Farke’s system – for a bargain fee of just £5.5m. It just makes sense.
Whether Kamara starts is another question. Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray have started superbly, combining well. But Kamara will fancy his chances. It might be that he needs a few weeks to get fit.
Perhaps, get some match fitness under his belt off the bench initially. But following that, the Rangers man will surely be a good signing for Leeds – a player that Steven Gerrard says has a “fantastic attitude”.
