Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Gent striker Gift Orban ahead of the summer and Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the Nigerian’s future – reporting that Orban is ‘expected’ to leave in the coming months.
Orban, 20, has been in sensational form since joining the Belgian side in January. Gent moved to land the Nigerian ace in January after he scored 19 goals in 24 games for Norwegian side Stabaek in around 18 months at that club.
Since his move to Gent, he has been on fire. Playing just 11 times, he has scored a whopping 14 times – including five goals in four games in the Europa Conference League. CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs says Leeds are keen.
He reported such on TeamTalk in March and now, Romano has posted an update. Gent bought Orban for a fee in the region of £3m, but are now ready to make a quick profit. Indeed, Romano says he could cost north of £17.5m.

Orban is clearly an enormous talent. It is a big step up to go from Norwegian football, to the top tier of Belgium. But, he has made the transition look easy. He is showing that he clearly has the potential to shine in the Premier League.
He certainly looks like he is worth a punt. To not only score goals in Belgium, but also in the knockout stages of the Conference League, is impressive. But do Leeds need him – or would signing him simply stunt his rapid growth?
Leeds have Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Georgie Rutter in the final third. Joe Gelhardt out on loan. If Rodrigo or Bamford depart, and Gelhardt goes out on loan again, then Orban is a good signing. But only, if that happens.
