CBS Sports reported Ben Jacobs has told TeamTalk that Leeds United and Leicester City are among the clubs keen on signing Gent wonderkid Gift Orban – after the Nigerian has blasted 12 goals in just nine games since January.
Orban, 20, joined Belgian side Gent in the January window from Norwegian side Stabaek in the winter window. In 24 senior games in Norway, Orban scored 19 goals and laid on seven assists. An incredible record that is improving.
The Nigerian has since scored 12 goals in nine games for Gent. In the past week, he has scored seven goals in just two games – four against Zulte Waregem in the League, and a four-minute hat-trick against Basaksehir on Thursday.
Jacobs reports that Leicester and Leeds are taking a look at Orban ahead of the summer window. He states that given he has only just joined Gent, it might be a move that occurs in 2024. He discussed likenesses with Osimhen.

“Gift Orban has said that his dream is to eventually play in the Premier League,” Jacobs said. “Naturally, he is being compared to Victor Osimhen. He’s a little bit smaller than Osimhen, but he’s not afraid to put his body about.

“He’s clinical, he’s intelligent, he’s got good awareness. Leicester are one to watch. Leeds could be in the equation as well. They’re on the lookout for a young striker and somebody to alleviate the burden on Patrick Bamford.”
Leeds and Leicester among clubs keen on Gent wonderkid Gift Orban
Orban is a wonderful talent. His goalscoring record is quite breathtaking, and rightly, he has earning comparisons with Osimhen. Of course, the latter is further along in his career and one of the best in the world – valued at £88m.
Can Orban be as good as Osimhen? He would be going some way to reach the Napoli star’s level. If Orban can hang on the coat tails of Osimhen then he will be a wonderful striker at Premier League level. Leeds should move quickly.
Waiting around until 2024 would suit Leeds in that Orban will be a better player with more goals and games under his belt. But, more clubs will become interested, and his value will go up. Leeds can save cash moving this summer.
