Fabrizio Romano has just dropped some major, albeit not that surprising, transfer news coming out of Leeds United.
Leeds United are in full swing ahead of the summer transfer window, with Daniel Farke gearing his team up for another Premier League campaign following two seasons in the Championship.
The summer transfer window officially opens on June 1st and already we’re seeing a number of players linked with moves to Elland Road, including some very high-profile names too.
Leeds United are interested in signing Leonardo Balerdi at Marseille, although the Argentine international would cost a club record fee of £38million.

Meanwhile, Liverpool duo Caoimhin Kelleher and Konstantinos Tsimikas are also linked with moves to West Yorkshire, in what could prove to be a very fruitful summer for the Whites.
But there’s going to be inevitable player exits too. The likes of Junior Firpo looks set to leave Leeds United along with a couple of others, including Sam Byram who’s out of contract, whilst many are tipping Patrick Bamford to leave.
Josuha Guilavogui set to leave Leeds United, Fabrizio Romano confirms
Another name who many have speculated will move on this summer is Josuha Guilavogui. Leeds United signed Guilavogui as a free agent back in October at a time when Farke desperately needed a midfield addition, with the former French international going on to play 16 times in the Championship as Leeds United won the title.
Soon after the end of the campaign, it was reported that Guilavogui was widely expected to leave Leeds United with his contract set to expire in the summer. And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed the news on X.
He’s posted on X: “Josuha Guilavogui plans to leave Leeds United as free agent this summer.
He’s open to new chapter with contract due to expire in the coming weeks.”

Despite playing a very rotational role for Leeds United in the 2024/25 season, not starting a single league match for the club, Guilavogui brought a lot to the team.
It was clear that the players all liked and respected Guilavogui by their actions around him, like running over to celebrate with him after scoring and so on. And it seems clear that Farke brought him in to be a leader off the pitch.
Shortly after signing, Guilavogui spoke about his move to Leeds United, explaining: “When I spoke with our manager, he knows what I can bring on the pitch, but also outside the pitch because we don’t have to forget that we have injured players and I am there to help them, and when they will recover I will also help the young players.”
Behind the scenes it seems like Guilavogui played a key role in morale. That’ll be missed and Farke may look to bring in someone similar this summer, but someone with a bit more Premier League expertise at the same time.
