The draw for the FA Cup third round takes place on Monday evening and Leeds United are one of 64 teams eagerly waiting to find out who they face.

While Daniel Farke’s side will be locked in on winning promotion back to the Premier League this season, the boss will know that a decent cup run can help to build confidence and potentially hand him the chance to test their progress against a top-flight side when the balls are drawn out.

Leeds dropped out of the top two at the weekend following their narrow defeat at Blackburn Rovers, but have had a largely encouraging first third of the Championship season and remain well placed for a promotion push as they enter a vital section of the season.

How many times have Leeds United won the FA Cup?

Leeds United have won the FA Cup just once in their history, when Don Revie’s team triumphed over Arsenal in the 1972 Centenary FA Cup final.

Revie also took that side to three other finals during his time in charge of the club, with Leeds coming up short in 1965, 1970 and 1973.

Leeds have not enjoyed a strong record in the FA Cup in recent years, having reached the fifth round just three times in the last ten years.
