Ethan Ampadu has sent a social media message to Leeds United supporters after he was announced as the club’s August player of the month.
Ampadu was going up against Jamie Shackleton, Archie Gray and Pascal Struijk for the award but received the most votes from supporters, as per the official club website.
The 23-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on the same day his POTM was announced, has quickly established himself as a fan favourite since his £7 million move from Chelsea.

So far, he has played every minute of every game across all competitions under Daniel Farke, already becoming a key part of the way the Leeds boss wants to play.
Ampadu has demonstrated his ability both in and out of possession and is finally replacing the void left by Kalvin Phillips following his departure in July 2022.
Ampadu sends Leeds fans message after POTM award
Giving a quick message to Leeds supporters via the club’s social media platforms, Ampadu spoke of how much he has enjoyed his first few weeks at Elland Road, as well as his gratitude at receiving the award.
He said: “Hi to all the Leeds fans. Just want to say a big thank you for voting me as the August player of the month. Really enjoyed my first month here and hopefully now we can kick on and enjoy some more success together.”

Ampadu is arguably the best bit of business Leeds have done since Raphinha three years ago when you take into account both ability and cost.
Based on his performances so far, Ampadu already looks Premier League ready and hopefully he will be able to play a big part in taking Leeds back there.
He is the type of player Leeds will be looking to build a team around for many years to come but that can only happen if they are able to get promoted as swiftly as possible.
