Six goals in five for the big man!
There is only one international break between now and when Thomas Tuchel selects his side to take on Croatia, Ghana and Thomas Christiansen’s Panama next June. Calvert-Lewin has to keep scoring goals.
Especially, after Ollie Watkins’ brace for Villa against Chelsea on Saturday night, taking the Villa striker to five Premier League goals. Now, it has been revealed what Tuchel thinks about Calvert-Lewin’s form.

Thomas Tuchel makes Dominic Calvert-Lewin move behind scenes
With England facing an old Leeds manager in Christiansen at the World Cup, the next fixtures in March are against Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay and Ao Tanaka’s Japan. Calvert-Lewin will be eyeing that chance.
Well, according to TeamTalk, Tuchel has been left particularly impressed by Calvert-Lewin’s form, and given he has gone to a major tournament before, part of England’s final-reaching Euro 2020 side.

Gary Lineker and Wayne Rooney agree on Calvert-Lewin’s chances
There is no doubt that Calvert-Lewin deserves to be considered by Tuchel at the moment, and if he manages to continue scoring goals, there is no reason as to why Calvert-Lewin shouldn’t earn a call-up.
However, and despite Watkins’ lack of goals, Rooney and Lineker believe Watkins remains above Calvert-Lewin as things stand. Especially, after Watkins scored a brace against Chelsea last time out for Villa.
Lineker said: “We do know there’s a very good centre-forward if he keeps fit. For now, he should remain focused and keep doing what he’s doing. England do need a back-up no.9. Ollie Watkins is way ahead.”
For now, Calvert-Lewin will be desperate to continue his goalscoring rate against Sunderland and into the new year. The forward will be keen to show this is not simply a streak, but a return to his very best form.
