Darko Gyabi has been praised after his second game for Plymouth Argyle, as the Leeds United loanee helped Ian Foster’s side secure a 3-1 win over Cardiff City.
Darko Gyabi started alongside a familiar face at Home Park. Plymouth announced the signing of former Leeds teammate Adam Forshaw in the week following his release from Norwich City.
It proved to be a positive day for the Pilgrims. Argyle secured their first league win since mid-December. And it seems that the 19-year-old made a really positive impact on the game. Gyabi was already praised by his manager following his debut.

Plymouth Live handed Gyabi one of their higher ratings following the victory, with only Ryan Hardie receiving a better mark than the midfielder’s score of eight out of 10. Hardie scored twice and set up the other, which certainly explains his rating.
And it appears that there is optimism that the Leeds teenager is going to do well during his time with Plymouth.
“Built on a solid debut in the 1-1 draw away to Huddersfield Town with a fine display against Cardiff, where he combined the ability to break up the play with getting on the ball and passing it well. It is early days but the on-loan 19-year-old Leeds United midfielder looks like a good signing for Argyle,” they wrote.
Brilliant move for youngster
Unfortunately for Gyabi, Plymouth’s next game sees them face Leeds in the FA Cup next weekend. So unless some sort of agreement was reached, it appears likely that he will have to sit out the tie at Elland Road.
But it is promising to see him start well at Plymouth. This appears to be a fantastic loan move for the youngster given that Foster has already brought in some other exciting signings, with Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine both coming in from Tottenham.
It will certainly do his chances of being a success at Leeds no harm at all if he thrives with a Championship rival.
Leeds look incredibly strong in the middle of the park this season, perhaps even stronger than last year in the Premier League. So Gyabi’s task is a tough one.
But regular minutes at Home Park is likely to do him the world of good after struggling to take that final step at Leeds.
