Dominic Calvert-Lewin says Leeds United’s Daniel Farke is doing something he’s never experienced before

The second international break is upon Leeds United after defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, with eight points secured from the club’s first seven matches.

Leeds have added four points in their last four games following the September break, having beaten Wolves but lost to Fulham and Tottenham. The Whites also drew with Bournemouth at Elland Road.

Many will argue that Leeds deserve to be a lot higher in the table, having conceded in injury time to Fulham and Bournemouth, while Saturday’s performance deserved a lot more than to suffer a 2-1 loss.

But there is a feeling among Leeds fans that this side are doing enough and performing well enough to maintain their place in the Premier League come May. Nothing is decided after seven games, though.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin shares Daniel Farke insight at Leeds

Calvert-Lewin should have scored his second Leeds goal on Saturday and while his hold-up play was excellent again, the 11-time England man was missing his shooting boots as Spurs went on to win.

The striker spoke to Lucas Radebe on LUTV after the game and was asked if the manager was worried about the importance of games against Burnley and West Ham next. Calvert-Lewin gave his verdict.

Radebe asked Calvert-Lewin: “I think you guys have played well, you’ve battled well, you’ve showed character through the games. There are tough games coming up, is the manager worried about that?”

Calvert-Lewin replied to Radebe: “We prepare for every game like normal. He’s very consistent with how we approach games, to beat the opposition. The manager has been very successful in the past.

“He knows what he’s doing. Me coming into the building, I’m really impressed with the level of detail we’re given going into the match. Probably more than I’ve had in the past. We all know our roles.”

The Leeds no.9 has made an impression. Jermaine Beckford says Calvert-Lewin has been “unbelievable” even if he’s not been scoring goals. The striker has, of course, got one to his name in the win at Wolves.

Leeds now have the chance to work on the training ground for the next fortnight before returning to action on October 18, when Leeds go to Burnley. Calvert-Lewin will be desperate to get another goal.
