Saturday proved to be a source of frustration for all those connected to Leeds United, including the club’s players, as Tottenham secured a 2-1 win at Elland Road.
Two deflected goals were enough for Thomas Frank’s men to end a year-long unbeaten record at Elland Road in the league for Leeds, who did score through Noah Okafor, but had many more chances to score.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Joe Rodon, Sean Longstaff and Joel Piroe all had chances to score, some better than others, but ultimately failed to find the back of the net. It resulted in a third league loss of 2025-26.
Leeds have slipped from 11th to 15th in the Premier League table, but do remain above the point-a-game target. Next up for Leeds are two massive games, Burnley at Turf Moor and then West Ham at home.

Noah Okafor posts on Instagram after scoring for Leeds
The Switzerland international netted his second goal for Leeds, tapping in from close range after a clever move that included Longstaff, Jayden Bogle, Calvert-Lewin, Brenden Aaronson and then Okafor scoring.
That’s two goals for the £18m signing since his move from AC Milan. With the way Leeds have spread their seven Premier League goals around this season, that makes Okafor Leeds’ top scorer this season.
Okafor posted on Instagram on Monday afternoon following his goal against Tottenham. While Leeds may be frustrated not to get a result on Saturday, Okafor will be delighted to score his second goal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gabriel Gudmundsson reply to Okafor
The Premier League season takes a backseat for the next fortnight as the second of four international breaks take place. Leeds have nine players on duty over the next two weeks, including Isaac Schmidt.
Okafor’s two goals were not enough for him to join up with Schmidt in Switzerland’s side for World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Slovenia, in which Schmidt will face both Gudmundsson and Jaka Bijol.

But both Gudmundsson and Calvert-Lewin were full of praise for Okafor on his Instagram, with Calvert-Lewin predicting that there is much more to come from Okafor in a Leeds shirt, after just four starts.
