Dom Matteo says Daniel Farke has installed a togetherness at Leeds United that normally takes a lot longer to be able to do – boasting an aura that Matteo shows he does not mind “upsetting people”.
Farke has taken a Leeds side that was all over the place, and turned them into a real outfit that is ready to push for promotion. His signings, his tactics, his ability to galvanise – it is all working for Farke now.
Many point to the signings of Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon or Joel Piroe as some of the best work in the summer but it was appointing Farke that got the ball rolling. Leeds are third, six wins in the last seven.
Leeds icon Matteo said in the Match Preview video uploaded on LUTV that he gets the impression that Farke does mind upsetting people – and has managed to develop a real feeling of togetherness, quickly.

“He understands the game inside out. He’s got that aura about him, he’s not worried about upsetting people for the good of the team,” Matteo said this week, on LUTV’s preview show ahead of Friday.
“That’s really important, they’re all on the same page – he installed that quite quickly. Sometimes that takes a long time to install. It feels like the squad, team, manager staff are all on the same page.”
Dom Matteo says Daniel Farke has installed Leeds togetherness
Leeds do look the most together they have been in a long old time. Winning helps, but Farke’s tactics are likeable and the players seem to be enjoying it. Squad rotation is there. Fringe players are happy.
The issue Leeds now have is that already, Ipswich and Leicester are eight clear and that gap needs to be reduced over the Christmas period if we are to stand any chance of getting promoted automatically.
