Djed Spence has told LUTV that he thinks he will suit the style of play Daniel Farke has instilled at Leeds United, after joining the club on loan from Tottenham. He also discussed Joe Rodon and Elland Road.

Spence, 23, joins Leeds on a season-long loan from Spurs – with a £1m loan fee going into Tottenham’s coffers. There is no permanent clause in the deal for the England Under-21 man. A real coup, for Leeds.

A player that starred for Nottingham Forest during the season in which Steve Cooper got them back into the Premier League. A year which earned him a place at Spurs, costing the Londoners around £20m.

But just six outings, all off the bench and a tricky loan at Rennes has seen him move to Leeds on loan. Having completed a move, he gave his verdict on Farke, his Spurs teammate Rodon, and Elland Road.

“I can’t wait to get started. It’s a big club, good squad, ambition to get back to the Premier League. Just to get playing again, good manager – heard a lot about him, he plays attacking football,” Spence said.

“I think he’ll suit my style. I’ve spoken to him, he has orchestrated how the team wants to play – for me, the right decision. I know Joe [Rodon] from my parent club, it is good to join and have someone I know.

“Hopefully I can bring excitement to the team and impress everyone. I’m looking forward to playing at Elland Road, I’ve heard a lot about it – I’ve heard the fans are pretty lively so yeah, looking forward to it.”

Djed Spence thinks Daniel Farke style will suit him at Leeds

What a signing Spence is. But it does mean that others will have to go. Farke is not fussed by Cody Drameh, that was proven by his decision to take him off, 20 minutes after bringing him on at Ipswich.

Drameh is now expected to be shown the door by Leeds and Farke – with Luke Ayling remaining at the club as cover, and judging by his last couple of outings, perhaps solid competition for Spence.
