Daniel Farke has paid tribute to the Leeds United substitutes and in particular, Jaidon Anthony, after Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Swansea City – in which Leeds came from behind to secure a win.
Jamie Paterson’s early goal was cancelled out by Joel Piroe on four minutes, as the Dutchman struck against his old side. Then, Georginio Rutter netted his fourth of the season – with a quite wonderful goal.
Then, Rutter got himself an assist – laying on for Dan James to score, against his old side. A gorgeous finish into the roof of the net. Farke brought willy Gnonto and Patrick Bamford on with 20 minutes left.
After another 10 minutes, on came Junior Firpo and Anthony – the latter coming on once again, off the bench. Liam Cooper being the late sub. Farke praised all five subs in his presser – as per Leeds Live.
“It didn’t feel like we were safe at 3-1. Anthony was outstanding with his workload, Gnonto and Bamford too. With 11 players you will not win anything in this relentless league. Whole squad is needed,” he said.

It was crucial that Leeds got back to winning ways after Rotherham. Leicester dropped two points and that is a good result for Leeds, though Ipswich smashed Millwall. Rotation is going to be important.
Anthony may be somewhat frustrated to have only started twice for Leeds this season, but he continues to be involved in the side and a go to pick for Farke to come on. Anthony’s work rate was eye-catching.
Perhaps, trying to send a message to the Leeds boss – especially, after Ian Poveda was brought on earlier than him at Rotherham last week. Back to winning ways, ahead of Middlesbrough on Saturday.
