One Derby County player is quietly confident of getting a result against Leeds United when the two teams meet on Sunday.
Leeds United are on the road once again on Sunday, this time travelling to Pride Park to face a Derby County side who’ve held their own in the Championship this season.
Paul Warne’s side currently sit in 14th place of the Championship table compared to the Whites in 1st, after Leeds United beat Stoke City 2-0 on Boxing Day.
Derby meanwhile beat West Brom 2-1 on Boxing Day and have won two of their last three going into the weekend; one win being a 4-0 thrashing of Portsmouth.
Daniel Farke’s side have a couple of injury concerns going into the weekend, however, with Ethan Ampadu and Sam Byram being monitored for Leeds United after the game against Stoke.
As things stand, Leeds and Sheffield United are tied in 1st place with both sides on 48 points, though Leeds boast the superior goal difference.

Jerry Yates eyeing Leeds United ‘shock’ with Derby County
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Derby County striker Jerry Yates revealed how his team will have several meetings in preparation for the Leeds United game.
Yates also revealed how he thinks his Rams side can pull of a ‘shock’ result against the Whites, who’ve lost just one of their last nine in the Championship.
Yates told Derby County’s official club website: “We’ll be in at Moor Farm [Derby’s training ground] tomorrow morning for a little bit of recovery and there’ll be a lot of meetings going off over the next couple of days with regards to playing against Leeds.
“We know they’re a talented group and played them not so long ago. Obviously, we need to go out there and put on a performance. I’m sure we can shock them.”

Derby County and Leeds United is a fixture best remember by the ‘spygate’ story 2019.
Five years since, a lot has changed. Leeds have been in and out of the Premier League during that time whilst Derby County have been down to League One and back.
Leeds United beat Derby County 2-0 at Elland Road earlier in December. The game before that was the last time that Leeds played at Pride Park: it ended 3-1 in Leeds’ favour back in July 2020.
Derby have beaten Leeds just once since 2017 with their last two wins over the Whites coming at Elland Road.
The last time the Rams beat Leeds on home turf was way back in the 2016/17 Championship season.
