League position will not be a factor on Friday night when Leeds United take on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough – but Connor Roberts can be our surprise secret weapon against Danny Rohl’s side.

Wednesday are at the other end of the Championship table, sitting way down in 23rd place. But, Rohl’s men have turned a corner of late – winning five of their last six league games and sit on 38 points.
Relegation looked ominous for Wednesday but Ian Poveda’s new side have gone to a new level – and are on level points with three other sides. By all accounts, it is going to be a tough game away from home.
But, Leeds may have a new secret weapon in the form of 28-year-old Roberts. The £14k-a-week star has an excellent record against Wednesday throughout his career, facing Wednesday eight times.

In that time, for Swansea, Roberts has picked up four wins and three draws, losing only once. Not only that, but he has laid on an impressive five assists against Wednesday. He enjoys facing Rohl’s outfit.
Having started against Chelsea in The FA Cup and then against Stoke – and earning a place in the Team of the Week for his latest outing – you would imagine he retains his place tonight in the Yorkshire derby.
The likes of Georgi Rutter, Cree Summerville and Dan James will all be the usual threats for Leeds but it might be that Roberts – given his previous form against Wednesday – could be another weapon for us.
