The 49ers and Paraag Marathe have a big decision to make on Daniel Farke in the coming days and whether they believe the German is the right man to continue as Leeds United manager.
Even ahead of Sunday’s defeat to Aston Villa, Leeds fans had been calling for Farke’s head. Even more so, when Leeds fans found out that Brenden Aaronson would retain his spot in the starting XI against Villa.
The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛
LeedsUnited.News understands Farke will be given until January unless something drastic happens. But the pressure from supporters often plays a role and the 49ers will be desperate not to disconnect fans.
Elland Road, after all, has been Leeds’ biggest weapon this term. Sunday saw Leeds lose only for a second time in six games at Elland Road this season. Danny Murphy was asked about the Leeds gaffer’s future.

Danny Murphy makes Tottenham comparison with Leeds United
Leeds had taken the lead, with Lukas Nmecha scoring his third goal of the season. The German knew little about it, but the summer signing is now Leeds’ leading scorer, having netted three; two in the last two.
But Morgan Rogers’ brace saw Villa come from behind to win. That is now five losses in six for Leeds and Farke, with the Whites firmly planted in the drop zone. Murphy discussed Leeds on Match of the Day.
Mixed messages involving Daniel Farke after the Aston Villa loss…
Asked by Gabby Logan about the hostility among Leeds fans towards Farke, Murphy seemed to defend him by saying Leeds played well: ” It’s another loss and they’re on a bad run. There is a lot of discontent.
“That performance today was a good reaction. It was a good performance over 90 minutes. Leeds have an expectant crowd. The problem is for Leeds, and we spoke about Tottenham; they struggle to score goals.”

How many points did Leeds have after 12, under Jesse Marsch?
Back in 2022-23, Leeds made the mistake of retaining Jesse Marsch until after the January window. The American was sacked in February. By then, many felt that Marsch’s exit was late and Leeds were down.
Andrea Radrizzani admits he made a mistake not sacking Marsch during the 2022 World Cup break that season. Paraag Marathe was on the board at that point and is keen to avoid making the same mistake.
How Leeds compare under Farke now, and Marsch in 2022-23:
| Manager | Season | W-D-L | Goals for | Goals against | Points |
| Jesse Marsch | 2022-23 | 3-3-6 | 15 | 19 | 12 |
| Daniel Farke | 2025-26 | 3-2-7 | 11 | 22 | 11 |
After 12 games under Marsch in 2022-23, Leeds had 12 points having just beaten Liverpool at Anfield. A point more than Farke has managed in Leeds’ 12 games so far, meaning Marsch is outdoing Farke.
Leeds had also scored 15 goals under Marsch at the same stage in 2022-23, while Farke’s men have only managed 11 so far. Leeds have also conceded three more this season. It all points to Farke’s sacking.
