Leeds United were forced to be without one key player for their last two pre-season fixtures, and he’s now raring to go.

This particular player was a huge miss in pre-season, with Isaac Schmidt having to fill in and not quite putting in an equal performance.

The defender was out with a hip injury, but is hoped to be back in training in time to feature against Everton on Monday evening.

And now he has revealed manager Daniel Farke has given him permission to do the thing he did so well last season.

Daniel Farke will let Jayden Bogle attack in the Premier League

In an interview with the BBC podcast, Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet, Bogle spoke about whether Daniel Farke will give him licence to attack in the Premier League.

“His style of play is we want to play attacking, exciting football. But of course it’s a completely different league.

“There’s times when to go and when not to go, that’s what you’ve got preseason for, for that timing and get a feel for things.

“I think it’s understanding that first and foremost you’re a defender, that’s what you’re there to do. But a big part of it is contributing going forward as well and that’s what I enjoy doing.”

He also spoke about what makes a modern day full back: “I think it’s understanding that first and foremost you’re a defender, that’s what you’re there to do.

If his contributions last season are anything to go by, Farke encouraging Bogle to attack in the Premier League could help Leeds add another level to their offensive reinforcements.

His contributions were recognised by his inclusion in the 2024-25 EFL Championship Team of the Season, alongside teammates Dan James and Ao Tanaka, a testament to his impactful season at both ends of the pitch.
