Daniel Farke has a number of decisions to make to his Leeds United side ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Swansea – and here is why the boss should decide to drop Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville, 22, has been on fire for Leeds this season. In 14 Championship games, he has had a hand in 12 goals – scoring seven, creating five. It comes after he decided to remain at Leeds in the summer.
He is probably our best player right now. Georginio Rutter, Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon are on a par in terms of importance – but perhaps, not even as crucial as Summerville. That is despite his injuries, too.
Farke will want to get Leeds back to winning ways straight away on Wednesday and we will be expected to do just that – with Swansea winning one in six. The temptation for Farke will be to start Summerville.
But, it is not that simple. Leeds take on promotion rivals Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Saturday, and we certainly will need our best players available to take on Michael Carrick’s side. Rotation is required.

Why Daniel Farke should drop Crysencio Summerville this week
So, we will need Summerville against Boro and of the two games, it would surely be best to rest him on Wednesday. But even more so, because Summerville is on four yellow cards – one away from a ban.
Playing him, regardless of fitness or fatigue, is still a risk because a yellow card would see him banned against Boro. Leeds cannot risk not having him unavailable on Saturday – he has become that important.
It makes sense then, that Farke takes Summerville out of the starting line-up on Wednesday. Doing so, means he is fresh and available to face Boro in what could prove to be a crucial promotion encounter.
