Daniel Farke has provided a fresh update on the fitness of Georginio Rutter ahead of Leeds United’s trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The Whites face a swift return to league action following last night’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat at Chelsea with an away match at their West Yorkshire neighbours, as they look to make it 10 league wins in a row.
Rutter was absent from the squad completely at Stamford Bridge with Farke confirming before and after the game he was suffering with a hernia in training on Tuesday.
Leeds can ill afford to be without one of their key attacking players in what is set to be an extremely busy and important week in the race for promotion, and Farke has today shared an update on his condition.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Farke had some really good news to bring on the 21-year-old and is expecting him to be in the squad at Huddersfield.
Farke shares Rutter update
He said: “Good news, training session today and Georgi trained, looked good. Available for the game if his body does not react after this session.”
This is great to hear as Rutter is one of those players in Leeds’ squad they simply cannot be without in the run-in considering the impact he has on the rest of the attack.

Farke admitted after the recent win at Plymouth Argyle that Rutter has looked tired recently and so a full week without a game may have also done him so good.
Rutter caused Huddersfield all sorts of problems in the 4-1 win at Elland Road earlier in the season with his dribbling and creativity, and hopefully he can do the same again.
It would not be a surprise if he came straight back into the starting XI alongside Patrick Bamford, Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto, all of whom did not start at Chelsea.
