Daniel Farke says one Leeds United player has been in an ‘ice bath’ for 48 hours ahead of QPR

Daniel Farke has shared an injury update on his Leeds United squad ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Queens Park Rangers.

The Leeds boss kicked off the press conference sharing whether Dan James has a chance of playing again this season, having picked up an injury at Middlesbrough that will rule him out tomorrow.

Patrick Bamford is also said to be a major doubt, having picked up a big bruise on his knee at the Riverside, in what would be a big blow based on his performance on Monday.

Leeds have a considerably shorter turnaround of just 72 hours in comparison to the majority of the Championship this week, a decision pundit Jon Newsome believes is ‘disgusting’.

That means those who Farke has to make a late decision on are less likely to be available, which understandably has left the 47-year-old frustrated.

Farke says Sam Byram has been in an ice bath since QPR

After a run of three matches without success, Leeds made a return to winning ways against Boro and saw Farke will be eager to keep as much continuity in his side as possible.

Sam Byram was among those who returned to the starting line-up in place of the injured Connor Roberts, having not started since the win over Hull City on Easter Monday.

Byram has had his fair share of injury troubles since returning to Leeds in the summer and so he has had to be carefully managed over the course of the season.

However, at this stage of the campaign, it is needs must for Leeds and speaking in his pre-match press conference, Farke says Byram has very much been wrapped in cotton wool this week.

He said: “With Sam we’ve put him in the ice bath for the last 48 hours so should be alright. Joe had a knock to his calf but he should be fine, yes.”

Predicted Leeds XI to face QPR tomorrow

As mentioned, Farke will be keen to keep some continuity in his starting XI for tomorrow after a big win at Boro earlier in the week.

However, if Bamford is not fit, he could be forced into making a change up front and both Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe will be hoping they get the nod.

Elsewhere, it does not look like there will be many, if any changes at all, with Farke seeming pretty confident the likes of Byram and Joe Rodon will be fit.
