Daniel Farke told his press conference on Saturday evening – as per Leeds Live – that Joel Piroe‘s ability to finish is a natural one that you cannot learn. Piroe scored the winner against Bristol City on Saturday.
Piroe scored his fifth goal for Leeds on Saturday with the scoreline reading 1-1 – receiving a pass from Glen Kamara and finishing superbly from the edge of the box, through a defender’s legs. Leeds won 2-1.
It had come after Piroe had struggled in his previous two games and with Patrick Bamford having quite a big impact off the bench against QPR – there was some suggestions that Farke could make a change.
But after Farke’s impassioned 13-minute answer on Piroe, Georginio Rutter and their positions – Piroe repaid the faith his manager had bestowed in him. Farke spoke about the £16m signing after the match.
“His finishing was, yeah, you can’t learn this. He’s an instinctive finisher, he knows where he has to be at the edge of the box and then the finish through the legs of the opponent, the goalkeeper can’t see this.
“This is what you have as a striker, you can’t learn and so it’s more like a natural gift and he has this and I praise him. All the praise goes to him, we spoke about a few situations,” Farke told his press conference.

What a finish. Leeds had much easier chances during the game, Piroe himself missing a one on one when put through by Georginio Rutter – though the pass from Rutter might have been slightly heavy.
Piroe is finally a striker Leeds can pin their hat on, and back him to score the necessary goals that will get us promoted back into the Premier League. But if not him, Leeds have plenty of others to do the job.
