Daniel Farke told his post-match press conference – as per Leeds Live – that new Leeds United striker Joel Piroe is a “really humble” character behind the scenes, willing to work hard in training sessions.
Piroe, 24, was thrown in at the deep end on Saturday as he started up top for Leeds less than 48 hours after we confirmed his arrival from Swansea. The Whites moved, after 46 goals in 96 Swansea games.
Forming a lethal-looking front-four with Willy Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Georginio Rutter – the gamble to play all four paid off. Each one, including Piroe, got their names on the score sheet as Leeds won 4-3.
A brilliant win, given the tumultuous nature of the Leeds squad at the moment – and given Ipswich had won all four previous matches. Piroe impressed. Farke gave his first verdict on the ace since he joined.
“Stats speak for themselves. Quality player with end products. More than 20 goals in last two seasons. Many assists. Good team-mate. Really humble and hard-working character. Link-up play,” Farke said.
“Need goals in our squad. Good age. More to come. Developed from year to year and improved. Want we want to do is improve him. Full package and personality,” the Leeds gaffer added, as per Leeds Live.

What a signing Piroe is. He looked like just what we have lacked in the early stages of the season. Not only did he score, but three of his four shots were on target. WhoScored say he also laid on a key pass.
Piroe also put in the work defensively. A tackle, an interception and two clearances – 18 of his 24 passes completed. A solid first display for Piroe and you would imagine that he will be rested on Tuesday night.
