Crysencio Summerville has been on fire for Leeds United this season as we push for promotion and Daniel Farke has shared how he is getting the best out of the Dutchman, in training and on the pitch.
Summerville, 22, has been on fire for Leeds. He got another assist on Wednesday night, for Joel Piroe’s goal. It has taken time for Summerville to realise his best in a Leeds shirt – but certainly, he is right now.
He has 13 goal involvements in 15 Championship games – seven goals, six assists. Alongside Georginio Rutter, he is providing the heartbeat to our attacking play. There have been questions about his attitude.
Jesse Marsch used to speak of Willy Gnonto being a good influence on him. In the 21’s, he has been seen arguing with teammates in taking a penalty. He travelled to the Netherlands to celebrate his 21st.
But Summerville has admitted himself he is happy at the moment. Farke was asked how he is keeping him in red-hot form – and said he is constantly on him, and his teammates, on the club’s YouTube.

“It is important what you do in training. You need to be smart, in the load in training but not wrapping them in cotton wool, remind them if they are 2% less – keep going. Winning mentality, you need it.
“There are lots with potential, but just a few can watch back after 17 years with a belly, a glass of wine and a cigar and say, I made the most out of my career. Winning is a habit and you have to have this.”
Daniel Farke on how he’s getting best out of Cree Summerville
It is great to hear that not only is Farke getting Summerville to tick, but is not resting on his laurels – and is pushing for more from the Leeds sensation. It is working, with Summerville simply on fire right now.
What will be interesting is if Summerville is still wearing a Leeds shirt come the end of January. There will certainly be interest in the winger. Hopefully, Leeds can keep him. He is key to our promotion push.
