Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has told Wednesday’s press conference – as per the club’s YouTube – that Cody Drameh remains in his Elland Road plans, with injury hampering his progress this summer.
Drameh was an unused sub against Birmingham City after only a late outing against Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup. The 21-year-old is now fit, and ready to compete with Luke Ayling on the right flank.
Obviously, doubts still remain regarding the future of Drameh. He has entered the final 12 months of his Leeds deal, after a loan spell at Luton. Lancs Live say Luton, Burnley and Brentford have shown interest.
Farke was asked about Drameh, who many had expected to be first choice above Ayling in the defence – and could still be. He said Drameh is still in his plans, and explained that it had been difficult for him.
“Of course he’s my my plans. He was injured during during pre-season for two weeks, it was also a bit difficult for him because he was obviously on loan. As a player you want to use pre-season to impress.
“And if you’re injured – it’s never that easy. We need every player. I can’t predict what the situation will be at the end of August and if there is a possibility for other outgoings or whatever,” Farke told media.

Drameh needs to just get back into the swing of things, and judging by Ayling’s questionable form at the start of this season, it will not be too long until Drameh is starting week in, week out for Farke’s Leeds.
But what is crucial, is that we adhere to Drameh’s wants and needs. He is the future of our right-back slot, and pinning him down to a new deal is key. Farke must consider bringing him into the starting XI.
