Daniel Farke responds when asked about his first impressions of Leeds United squad

Plenty of players are expected to leave Leeds in the next few weeks after the club announced Daniel Farke – but he told Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet that he is confident he will have a good squad come the end of the summer window.

A four-year deal has been signed by Farke and Leeds, as the club finally bring in a permanent replacement for Jesse Marsch. With just four weeks to go until Leeds host Cardiff on August 6, there is plenty of work that must be done.

Of course, the current players on the books will change quickly. Many are expected to join Tyler Roberts and Alfie McCalmont in leaving permanently. In turn, plenty of players will be signed as replacements in the coming weeks.

Farke was asked by Adam Pope in a chat posted on a new episode of the DGTBJY podcast, what he thought of the squad. He said it is too early to discuss individuals – but is optimistic plans will be in place at the end of the window.

“We will see, I think it is a bit too early to talk about individual players right now. I’m looking forward to meeting the players for the first time. It’s important for me to get first impressions,” Farke told Pope on Monday evening.

“I’m quite confident that at the beginning of the season, that we will have a good squad together. It will be a busy two months, I hope that we will have a good squad at the end of the transfer window,” Farke added, on the squad.

Illan Meslier, Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Junior Firpo, Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, Cody Drameh, Brenden Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra, Willy Gnonto, Jack Harrison, Cree Summerville, Rodrigo, Georginio Rutter.

All have been linked with the exit door. Joel Robles and Adam Forshaw are technically, free agents. So, Farke has got to get to work instantly. If players want to go, they must go – in order to quickly make room for incomings at Leeds.
