TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has told Give Me Sport that he expects Leeds United boss Daniel Farke to do something in the final hours of the transfer window – and a move for Charlie Taylor “makes sense”.
Leeds are still active in the transfer window with a number of players being linked with the exit door. At this stage, with more than eight hours to go, players are expected to leave – rather, than some come in.
However, the left-back area is still a position in which Leeds may look to strengthen. There was interest in Luke Thomas, who went to Sheffield United. Charlie Taylor has been strongly linked with a return.
The Burnley defender has not been involved in either of his side’s two Premier League matches, failing to even get on the bench. His contract ends in June. Phil Hay says Leeds have approached Burnley.
Speaking ahead of the final few hours of the summer window, TalkSPORT’s Crook said a move for Taylor makes sense. He also says that he expects Farke to make movements in the final hours of the window.
“Charlie Taylor makes sense, I think; he’s a good Championship player and obviously, just because of the sheer volume of players they’ve lost, they’re going to try and do something for sure,” Crook said.

The chances of Leeds getting Taylor in at Elland Road now, with Farke almost confirming that he is happy with his options on the left of the defence, seems slim. But, if we could, what a signing he’d be.
Leeds have failed to bring in a left-back that has solved the issue in that position ever since Taylor left for Burnley in 2017. Gjanni Alioski was more of a winger. Barry Douglas, injury prone. Now, Firpo.
The least said, the better. Leeds do need more quality on the left of the defence – but we do also have options and if we can’t do a deal for a left-sided defender then so be it. But Taylor would be superb.
