Daniel Farke has told Friday’s press conference – as per Leeds United’s YouTube – that he does not believe Joel Piroe is a similar kind of striker to Erling Haaland, but is happy with the Dutch star’s form.
Piroe, 24, has impressed for Leeds so far. In 10 games, he has scored five goals for the Whites so far. Most recently, scoring a winner over Bristol City to win 2-1. He has had games where he has struggled.
But, a ratio of one goal every two games is more than enough to have impressed since he joined the club for £16m in the summer. Piroe told Sky Sports that he often watches Man City striker Haaland.
Asked about his comments, Farke joked that he does not think Piroe is anything like Haaland – but said he is pleased with his form so far at Leeds. That is despite admitted Piroe has struggled in the last two.

“In general, I’m pretty pleased. I’m not sure if he’s a player like Haaland, but it is good he is trying to learn from the best players. It is important he stays authentic. It’s a different club, Leeds United.
“The size, expectation. It comes with more responsibility. He was the main man at Swansea. But here, it is a different topic. I’m pretty pleased with him, five goals, if he goes on in this average – that is good.
“We are happy to have him, because of his quality and his personality. Great teammate. Last two games, not at his best. But it is normal as an attacker to have quiet games,” Farke told his press conference.

Piroe has been poor in the last couple of games. He missed chances in the comeback win over Norwich, with Dan James, Georgie Rutter and Cree Summerville providing the goal involvements on Saturday.
Against Stoke, he missed a couple of half chances – and struggled to really get involved in order to feed Rutter. But Piroe is a top player and if he continues his ratio of goals, he is going to score more than 20.
