Pascal Struijk continued his run to have played every single minute of Championship action for Leeds United this term- but Daniel Farke admits he could have adapted to Joe Rodon being subbed, quicker.
Struijk, 24, has played all 14 Championship matches, starting and finishing them. He has even scored three goals this season, scoring two in the Carabao Cup and one in the Championship, at Southampton.
On Saturday, Struijk captained Leeds for a fourth consecutive game as we strolled to a comfortable win over Huddersfield. We were 4-0 up at the break. But one blemish, was Leeds conceding on 70 minutes.
A long-range strike from Sorba Thomas, who was arguably Huddersfield’s best player on the day, was parried by Illan Meslier and before the Leeds defence could react – Michal Helik finished the rebound.
Rodon had been taken off a few minutes earlier, feeling his hamstring. It saw Liam Cooper come on, and Struijk move to the right side of central defence. Farke was asked about the central defender’s game.
“As a left-footed player you have different angles to a leftie on the right. Game changes when we have two lefties on. Always different angles and positioning in the front lines has to change,” Farke said.
“Could have been better in adapting to this. We were in the lead and not easy for offensive players to react. Pascal though, was excellent,” Farke continued, in his post-match presser as per Leeds Live.

Bit harsh to say regarding Struijk that he should have got used to his position quicker, given he was forced out of his original role given the introduction of Cooper. But ultimately, a huge 4-1 win for us.
Crucial, to get back to winning ways after the defeat to Stoke in the week but also, pivotal that Leeds developed some momentum ahead of our toughest test of the season, Friday’s trip to Leicester City.
