David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

Leeds go into the game looking to secure a third successive Championship victory and keep the pressure on the top two, who kick off at 3pm, after the match at Ewood Park.

Having won seven consecutive matches at home, Leeds’ form on the road has been a little patchy at times this season, with all three of their defeats coming away.

Leeds were held to a 1-1 draw by Rotherham United in their previous away game and were also beaten 1-0 by Stoke City at the end of October.

However, in his latest weekly EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, Prutton has backed Leeds to come away with all three points in their trip to Lancashire.

Leeds need to pounce on poor Blackburn home form

He believes it will be a close game at Ewood Park but thinks Leeds will just about shade proceedings against an inconsistent Blackburn side.

He said: “Blackburn look brilliant at times this season, on other occasions they manage to throw a result in like the one at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. It is why they are just on the outside of the play-offs.

“Leeds look in very good shape. But they need to just win and win and win if they are to close that gap on the top two. It could be close here, but the away side will shade it. Prediction: Blackburn 1-2 Leeds.

Having scored 32 and conceded 31, Blackburn are one of the most entertaining sides in the division, but that could actually play into Leeds’ hands.

Leeds are the best counter-attacking team in the division according to Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca and the space Blackburn leave could well allow the attacking players to flourish.

Only six teams have a worse home record than Blackburn in the Championship this season and so hopefully Leeds can take advantage of that.
