Chelsea about to hand Leeds the perfect chance to sign £10m Premier League maestro – Opinion

A report from The Times claim Nottingham Forest are about to complete the loan signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea until the end of the season – and it surely helps Leeds United get Lewis O’Brien.

One-time Brazil star Santos, 19, only joined Chelsea in January and immediately rejoined Brazilian side Vasco da Gama. Now at Chelsea, it looks as though he is set for a loan move to Forest this summer.

So, Forest are set to bring in a central midfielder. One that plays in the exact same role as long-term target O’Brien. Leeds are still lacking an option in the middle of the park and O’Brien is being targeted.

According to Alan Nixon, Leeds are interested in raiding Forest for O’Brien. He is back in the Forest squad for the Premier League, after being omitted from the 25-man side back in the January window.

Forest set to sign Chelsea ace Santos: Helps Leeds get O’Brien

Nixon reports that Leeds are keen and will have to spend £10m to sign him permanently – or, bring him in on loan. He was an unused sub in Forest’s first game, and absent from the squad for their second.

So, already on the fringes and with little chance of a break back into Steve Cooper’s side – surely, the signing of Santos pushes O’Brien further down the pecking order and therefore, closer to the exit door.

It might be then that Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea are about to help Leeds in their pursuit of O’Brien, by allowing Brazilian gem Santos to move to the City Ground this summer. Fingers crossed it gets done.
