Ipswich Town are lining up a move for former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, who Leeds United turned down the chance to sign in January.
That is according to Team Talk, who report Ipswich are ready to beat Premier League side Sheffield United to the free agent defender after his release from Old Trafford earlier this summer.
Ipswich could hold the advantage over other interested clubs including the Blades, with manager Kieran McKenna having worked with him at Man United.
McKenna is said to rate Tuanzebe very highly and will look to help him get his career back on track after a number of years of injury problems.
Tuanzebe has managed just 18 matches across the last two seasons due to his fitness, spending time on loan at Napoli and Stoke City, as well as Man United.

According to Phil Hay, Leeds were offered the chance to sign Tuanzebe back in January but rejected it, despite having lost Diego Llorente to injury.
Leeds clearly had major concerns over his fitness record, which were in the end justified given he managed just five games for Stoke after joining them on loan.
The Whites remain in the market for a new centre back this summer and Tuanzebe is certainly someone who could fit the bill of how Daniel Farke wants to play.
The 25-year-old is strong on the ball and has excellent recovery speed, but even though he is available on a free, his injury record is too much of a risk.
Instead, it appears as though Ipswich will look to make a move as they look to build a squad ready for their first season back in the Championship since 2020.
