Champions League manager comments on his player joining Leeds, reports claim a deal is close

Rangers manager Michael Beale has told Tuesday night’s post-match press conference that there is still “nothing concrete” in reports that Leeds United are closing in on the arrival of midfielder Glen Kamara.

Kamara has not been involved in any of Rangers’ six games this season and is even said to be training by himself, or away from the first team. The 27-year-old ace is expected to leave Rangers this summer.

According to the Scottish Sun, Leeds are on the brink of completing a £5.5m deal to sign the Finland star. It is unclear if Kamara is keen on a move to Elland Road, with other European clubs interested.

The Gers gaffer was asked about the reports and he looked surprised by the claims that Kamara is on his way to Yorkshire. It will be interesting to see what is happening wth Kamara in the coming days.

“Nothing I’ve heard about that. So if anything has happened while we’ve been preparing for the game, but there’s nothing concrete on that right now,” Rangers boss Beale said, amid reports Leeds are close.

What a signing Kamara would be. At this latter stage in the window, when options in the market begin to dwindle and prices could start to go up as clubs become desperate – Kamara for £5.5m is a real bargain.

His contract is due to end in the summer of 2025. So, it is not as if Rangers are selling him cheap due to his deal. Instead, both parties realise it is time for him to move on and Leeds look as if they will get him.

With Adam Forshaw, Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie and Marc Roca all going – and only Ethan Ampadu signed – Leeds are in need of one or two additions. Kamara certainly eases our lack of midfield options.
