Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is reportedly close to becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur boss, and the Hoops have been left to bring in a replacement – with Jesse Marsch and Leeds target Brendan Rodgers on the shortlist.

Tottenham have finally made their move. The North London club are set to bring in Postecoglou as a replacement for Antonio Conte, with Ryan Mason since being in interim charge. Postecoglou has starred north of the border.

He has won three League titles since taking over at Celtic in the three seasons he has spent at Parkhead. That has convinced Spurs and Daniel Levy, who has changed tact – bringing in a more attack-minded manager in big Ange.

Sky Sports say that Postecoglou could be confirmed early this week and Celtic are drawing up a shortlist of possible replacements. Marsch, sacked by Leeds in February, is an option – while a return to Celtic for Rodgers could occur.

Rodgers has also been out of work since his sacking at Leicester. But in another link to Leeds, Rodgers is also said to be a target for the Whites. The Star say Andrea Radrizzani is a ‘huge admirer’ of Rodgers, adding him to the list.

Postecoglou close to Tottenham: Marsch and Rodgers on Celtic shortlist

It would be a wonderful move for Marsch. To go from being sacked by Leeds to taking over a club in the Champions League group stages next season, and of course, favourites to win the three domestic trophies, is quite impressive.

But you would argue that Rodgers is favourite. Of course, his move to Leicester annoyed many Celtic fans given he left in the middle of the season. However, you would imagine that would be forgiven if Rodgers returned to Glasgow.
