Bristol City caretaker boss Chris Hogg has shared his thoughts on Leeds United ahead of the two sides’ Championship fixture.
Hogg is currently standing in for manager Liam Manning who has been given a period of absence due to the desperately sad passing of his baby son Theo.
Hogg has been in charge for each of the Robins’ last two matches and helped them pick up an impressive four points from away matches at Middlesbrough and Stoke City.
Bristol City come into this one six matches unbeaten in the Championship but that run will certainly face its toughest test yet in Leeds, who have lost just once so far this season.
Jermaine Beckford is tipping a Leeds victory on the road but the Robins certainly won’t make it easy for Leeds based on their recent run of form.
Chris Hogg shares what he’s expecting from ‘top’ Leeds
Hogg was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s fixture where he claimed Leeds were a side both with a top manager and top players.
However, Bristol City are a side who like to dominate possession and in their draw at Stoke on Tuesday, had an impressive 28 shots despite only drawing.
In contrast, no side has faced less shots on target than Leeds across the entire division this season and so it will be interesting to see how the Robins setup.
Hogg insists his side will look to try and play on the front foot as much as possible but knows the calibre of opposition he is coming up against.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it, really excited. On the back of the last two games it’s a really good game for us to go into, it’s one for us to go and try take on our performance level again. Show real aggression and purpose with what we do, with and without the ball.
“You could probably copy every coaches and managers pre-game script against Leeds, they’ll say the same thing. They’ve a very good team, top players, top manager, really hard challenge but one we’re excited and ready for.”

Ross McCrorie on facing Leeds
With Cameron Pring injured, Ross McCrorie will be at left-back for the home side at the weekend and so will likely have to come up against Wilfried Gnonto.
Despite coming up against one of the most in-form wingers in the league, McCrorie has actually revealed post-match that he doesn’t know a huge amount about the Leeds squad.
He said: “Honestly, I don’t know many of the Leeds boys. I watch my clips and that, but I don’t really go by names, I’m not into names. It’s just a number on a back of a top to be honest. I watch the clips so I know what winger I’m up against and stuff and whatever position I’m playing.
“For me, it’s just another game. It’s your opponent, it’s one v one, you’re against them, it’s that individual battle, so I’m just focused on that one individual battle.”
