Jon Newsome has lauded Daniel Farke after Leeds United’s dramatic win over Norwich City on Saturday, claiming that his substitutions were magnificent.
Newsome was speaking on BBC Radio Leeds after two goals from Crysencio Summerville in the final 13 minutes of normal time to help the Whites come from 2-0 down to win at Carrow Road.
Daniel Farke could have hardly asked for a more Leeds-like display on his first return to Norwich. Of course, he had an amazing spell in charge of the Canaries.

It appeared that it was going to be a miserable return. Norwich were 2-0 up at the break. Leeds were missing a number of chances. And some of the defending was really poor.

But the visitors scored three times in the final half hour, with the final two goals coming after Farke made a couple of changes.

With 20 minutes remaining, Patrick Bamford and Willy Gnonto came on for Glen Kamara and Sam Byram. And Newsome suggested that those decisions from the Leeds boss played a vital role in changing the game.
“I thought the manager’s substitutions were magnificent,” he told BBC Radio Leeds. “I thought they were brave. They were strong. There was only one way he wanted to attack this game and wanted to go out and have a real go at winning it.
“And the players have done him justice. Fabulous performance. What a game of football.”
Win will give Whites squad huge belief
Obviously, Farke will not be getting carried away. There are a few issues to address following that performance.
But for now, we have the kind of victory which could be looked back upon as pivotal should we find ourselves right in the promotion mix at the business end of the campaign.
It was a hallmark of Farke’s Norwich sides that they never quite seemed to know when they were beaten. And he appears to have instilled a similar belief in his Leeds team.
That is the fourth time this season that Leeds have gone behind and managed to snatch at least a share of the points.
But this was the most impressive turnaround of the lot. It was the biggest comeback so far. And the belief it will give the side will be huge.
Leeds have a squad that should be battling at the top of the table. And Farke is definitely making the most of the amount of depth available to him.
