‘Baller’: Daniel Farke tells 21-year-old Leeds player to ‘improve his effectiveness’

Crysencio Summerville was the star of the show for Leeds United against Norwich City at Carrow Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City were 2-0 up at half time against Leeds United.

At that stage, it seemed that there was no way back for Leeds.

However, Daniel Farke’s side stepped up their game in the second half and scored three goals to win the Championship match 3-2.

Crysencio Summerville was (arguably?) the best player for Leeds.

The 21-year-old winger scored two goals, first on 77 minutes and then on 85 minutes.

Farke was impressed by Summerville’s performance, but the Leeds head coach has noted that the winger needs to improve in certain aspects of his game.

Leeds Live quotes Farke as saying about Summerville: “How we work is a secret for the training ground. I don’t talk about meetings. 

“Crysencio is a baller. When you see a guy touching the ball like he does it’s heart-warming.

“We want him to improve his effectiveness.

“Need goals and assists and end products.

“The next step in his career. 

“Delivers like this, he is on a good path.”

The Netherlands Under-21 international has made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Leeds so far this season.

Summerville has scored four goals and given two assists in those games.

Crysencio Summerville will get better

In my view, it is very smart management of Daniel Farke to praise Crysencio Summerville the way that he did after the match against Norwich City.

While Farke is clearly pleased with the two goals that the Dutch youngster scored, he does not want him to get complacent and wants him to continue to improve.

And, I believe that Summerville will grow and develop his game further under Farke in the coming weeks and months.

Leeds are third in the Championship table at the moment with 22 points from 12 matches.

The Whites are six points behind Ipswich Town, who are second and have played 11 matches.
