Leeds United are reportedly battling a number of clubs for Heerenveen flyer Milan van Ewijk and manager Arne Slot could help them complete a deal – as Heerenveen line-up Feyenoord’s Denzel Hall as a replacement this summer.
Van Ewijk, 22, starred for Heerenveen last season. Clocking up 40 appearances on the right of his side’s defence, van Ewijk had a hand in nine goals – scoring six, laying on three assists. He is now in the final two years of his deal.
A report from LC said that Leeds are interested. However, Coventry City have made an offer for van Ewijk. Not only that, but a previous report from LC also said that Portuguese giants Porto were looking at the Netherlands U21 ace.
It is up for debate as to whether Leeds actually need him, with Cody Drameh and Luke Ayling likely to be our two nailed-on options for the right of defence. But Drameh continues to attract interest after his form for Luton in 22-23.
Slot could help Leeds sign van Ewijk: Heerenveen eye replacement Hall
So, Leeds could move for van Ewijk. It might be Slot – who of course, was strongly linked with Leeds after the exit of Jesse Marsch, that could help. In June, Voetbal International said Heerenveen had chosen van Ewijk’s replacement.
Hall, also 22, has only ever played for Feyenoord’s senior side on two occasions. Last season, he was loaned to ADO Den Haag and impressed in his 35 games. With a year left on his deal, Heerenveen want to sign Slot’s defender.
Slot sanctioning a move for Hall to join – which looks likely given his lack of Feyenoord game time, and his contract – would help Leeds, as Heerenveen will have signed a replacement. But Leeds are not the only clubs interested.
