Archie Gray has taken to social media to label Crysencio Summerville the GOAT after the winger scored in Leeds United’s win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Summerville posted on Instagram as Leeds secured their first 2-0 victory in any competition since beating Southampton in their first season back in the Premier League in May 2021.

Crysencio Summerville continues to take the Championship by absolute storm. The 22-year-old has now scored nine goals and contributed six assists for Daniel Farke’s side this term. Only two players across the entire division have been directly involved in more goals.

And it was Summerville who all but made the points safe at Ewood Park, producing a deft finish to quash any hope the home side may have had of turning the game around.

Summerville has arguably been the best player in the Championship this season. And it has been apparent for some time what a boost it was to keep him beyond the summer transfer window as so many headed for the exit.

Certainly, his teammates are aware of how important the Dutchman is.

After Summerville took to Instagram, Liam Cooper urged him to keep flying. Meanwhile, former Leeds youngster Max Dean joined Archie Gray and Ian Poveda in praising the attacker…

Whites have always got a chance with current attacking lineup

The good news for Leeds is that the top four are very much starting to pull away from the rest of the division.

No side has picked up as many points across the last six games as Leeds. And thus, we now find ourselves nine points clear of fifth-place West Brom.

The worry is that neither Leicester City or Ipswich Town seem to be losing any steam right now. And the gap is still a sizeable one.

But with Summerville in the form he is in right now, and surrounded by others who are also playing so well – Dan James deserves a special mention – Leeds have still got every chance of catching the pace-setters.
