Following Illan Meslier’s mistakes against Swansea City, which has cost Leeds United another two points in the race for automatic promotion, all eyes will be on Daniel Farke’s starting XI next Saturday.
Meslier can be solely blamed for a number of dropped points this season. Guilty of arguably all three goals in a 3-3 draw with Hull City, Meslier threw the ball in in the final seconds to draw at Sunderland.
Then, Meslier drops one in front of Harry Darling and allows Zan Vipotnik to score from a tight angle on 96 minutes. If Leeds had won those six points, Daniel Farke’s men would be four clear of Sheffield United.
Leeds fans want blood. They want Meslier dropped from the starting line-up, given Farke has previously defended Meslier in the past. The Frenchman has been guilty of numerous mistakes – so, what next?

Daniel Farke told to drop Illan Meslier by Aidy White at Luton
Does Farke keep his faith in Meslier or does he bring Karl Darlow into the side? Darlow has just enjoyed a successful break playing alongside Joe Rodon and Dan James during the international break with Wales.
Certainly, Darlow was praised by Welsh media and might have given Farke food for though after Meslier was guilty of mistakes once again. On BBC Radio Leeds, White cannot see how Meslier stays in the side.
“It’s one too many now. You can be forgiven for one or two, if that’s his first mistake of the season you can say fair enough, it’s happened, move on. But the amount of times, obviously something is going on.
“A decision has to be made at a critical time of the season. I think you’ve got to [drop him]. Farke came out and supported him against Hull, but it’s happened him. How long do you trust him,” White claimed.

Karl Darlow and Joe Rodon connection should convince Farke
Meslier has cost Leeds six points, and other mistakes has probably worsened Leeds further in the race for automatic promotion. Yes, he saved a penalty which but Paul Merson said Meslier went from hero to zero.
The perfect summarisation. In other situations, bringing in another goalkeeper at this stage would be a risk, but Darlow and Rodon have just come off the back of playing together for Craig Bellamy’s Wales.
They helped Wales secure four points from six with Darlow not putting a foot wrong. Simply, Farke has got to make a change in goal to restore some trust felt by the Leeds defence in the man behind them.
