After £10m developments, USA star is ideal Leeds replacement for Brenden Aaronson

Bayern Munich have ended any chance of Rangers completing a permanent move to bring Malik Tillman to Ibrox beyond the end of the season, as they look for a big-money sale – and Leeds United should be considering a move.

Tillman, 21, starred for Rangers last season. The German-born USA star joined Rangers from Bayern on loan, one of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s better moments as Rangers boss. He went on to have a hand in 17 goals in 43 outings.

The Sun claim Rangers had a permanent option, but Bayern have decided to scrap that clause – as they believe they can sell him for a larger fee. Football Scotland claim Bayern want £10m, with Brighton and Brentford interested.

A player that can play out wide, or as an eight – but best as a 10 – Tillman is powerful, young, good in the air and incredibly gifted with the ball at his feet. He is much like Aaronson, but nowhere near as lightweight as our no.7.

Leeds should be considering move for on-loan Rangers man Tillman

Aaronson could be one of a number of players that leaves Leeds this summer. 90Min say he has an exit clause in his contract, worth £25m. It is unclear if clubs would be willing to pay that for him, and a compromise could be reached.

It might be that Aaronson has to go on loan somewhere, with the option of a permanent fee at that amount. Or, we decide to let him go for a smaller fee. If that is the case, Leeds seriously need to look at his USA teammate Tillman.

Tillman would be a wonderful replacement, for a bargain fee of £10m. Little surprise Brighton and Brentford are keen. But Tillman would struggle to start at either side and at Leeds, he would be the main man. A no-brainer.
